1.Sealing the Combustion Chamber: The upper engine gasket fills the microscopic pores between the cylinder head and the engine block, creating a tight seal for the combustion chamber. This prevents the leakage of high-pressure gas generated during the engine's operation, ensuring that the fuel-air mixture can burn efficiently within the combustion chamber and enabling the engine to produce the required power.
2.Preventing Coolant and Oil Leakage: It also seals the coolant passages and oil passages between the cylinder head and the engine block, preventing coolant from leaking into the combustion chamber or oil from entering the coolant system. This ensures the normal operation of the engine's cooling and lubrication systems. For example, if coolant leaks into the combustion chamber, it can cause engine overheating and reduced power; if oil leaks into the coolant system, it can affect the cooling effect and cause damage to engine components.
